PUNTO D´ACQUA

Diana Legel’s second solo exhibition in Rome brings the expressive power of a simple circular water surface into the gallery space. The sculpture Punto d’Acqua, made of steel and water, is integrated into the series of charcoal and graphite drawings Vitruvianische Kreise (Vitruvian Circles), all of which are the size of the artist’s physical height as a universal yardstick. In addition to Vitruvianische Kreise I, which dialogues in a play of mirrors with the reflective surface of the sculpture, two series of pencil and charcoal drawings are exhibited, some executed with both hands at the same time (another hallmark of the artist), windows of perception of an abstract world in its essence. The drawings come into being progressively, as the hatching is extended and the strokes thicken similarly to an organic growth. The exhibition is completed by two drawings executed four-handedly with the artist Iulia Ghița, tangible proof of similar sensitivities.

A catalogue printed for ‚Edizioni La Nube di Oort‘ accompanies the exhibition.
